Interns can expect to dedicate approximately 15 hours per week, with a maximum of 25 hours per week, depending on the track and project placement.

Urbanatomy offers a hybrid learning schedule that combines virtual instruction with in-person experiences.
In-person sessions will take place in the South Sacramento area.

An official schedule will be provided before the intern season begins.

The Urbanatomy curriculum is built around identity, advocacy, and applied workforce learning. Interns progress through four key stages:

  1. Workforce Readiness – Building communication, professionalism, and time management skills.

  2. Community Advocacy – Learning to use your voice and leadership to serve others.

  3. Hard Skill Development – Gaining technical, creative, or organizational skills in your field.

  4. Applied Internship – Putting your learning into action through real projects and mentorship.

We welcome professionals, community leaders, and experts to serve as guest speakers for our Urbanatomy Internship Program. Speakers play an important role in inspiring and educating our students through real-world experience and practical insight.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Presentation Length: 45–60 minutes

  • Topic: Choose a topic that helps students grow in workforce readiness, leadership, advocacy, or your area of professional expertise.

  • Format: Sessions may be in-person or virtual, but we prefer in-person presentations whenever possible.

  • Compensation: Speaking engagements are currently volunteer-based, though stipends may become available in the future.

If you’re interested in becoming a speaker, please complete our Speaker Registration Form:
