Creating Healthy Communities!

TSF understands that  Civic engagement plays a critical role in advancing environmental justice. Historically, underserved communities, particularly low-income and minority populations, have been disproportionately impacted by environmental hazards such as pollution, poor air and water quality, and lack of green spaces. 

By fostering civic participation, individuals in these communities can demand accountability, advocate for equitable environmental policies, and influence decisions on land use, resource allocation, and climate resilience.  One way we ensure civic engagement is by focusing on workforce development for our community members. 

TSF understands that physical health is important to improving public health in underserved communities. We also understand that residents that live in areas plagued by environmental injustices may suffer from health disparities that impact emotional and mental well being. 

TSF has an athletic program to help support health and wellness in underserved communities. All of our programs go beyond the sport and aim to build strong athletes with a since of community and purpose at their core! The athletic programs currently include the Iron Sharpens Iron Basketball Academy. 

TSF understands the importance of connecting the mission statement to the community members it impacts. As such, we host impactful, engaging, and meaningful events that help grassroot organizations and community residents!
