Super Parent Day (SPD) is an annual celebration that culminates in a day filled with family fun, performances, and community resources. This special day was created to honor and uplift “Super Parents” everywhere. But what exactly is a Super Parent?
A Super Parent is commonly known as a “single parent”—someone who takes on the primary responsibility of raising their child, with or without support from a co-parent. Although their journey is often marked by challenges, Super Parents are resilient, reject defeat, engage with and invest in their communities, and raise their children with grace and dignity. To simply call them “single parents” fails to capture the full depth of their strength and is void of the respect they truly deserve.
Each year, the event features vendor booths offering services and information, Super Parent Awards presented by Congressman Ami Bera and other elected officials, performances by local community groups, and a variety of recreational activities that promote physical activity and healthy living for both parents and children.
